Children & Sunday School Ministry

ATTENTION SUNDAY SCHOOL PARENTS:  Our new Sunday School season will start September 1.  As you know, we will be rotating the teaching responsibilities between parents this year.  A HUGE THANK YOU to those of you have signed up so far!  I am pleased with the positive response we had!

To prepare for this new method there will be a meeting for all parents on Sunday, August 18 at 11 AM in the Fellowship Hall.  This is during the late service, but my hope is that you will attend the early service, bring your children to Sunday School, and stay for the short meeting.  We will be looking at the new curriculum that is being implemented this year and go over the weekly routine.

We still have open spots on the calendar and need these filled, especially for first semester.  Please sign up for another spot if you have two or more children who are Sunday School age (3 years-12th grade).  Of course, anyone can sign up for more than one month!  We need these filled ASAP.  Please don’t leave it up to me to ask people to teach.  I’m more comfortable when you willingly volunteer.

Please note that during the month of December, we will have Christmas program practice during the Sunday School hour.  At this meeting, we will also discuss what day you would like to have the Christmas program.

In Christ,

Kay Onnen

Youth Bible Study will meet every Sunday at 9:45 AM in the Youth Room in the basement.  All high school youth are invited to attend.

“I Spy” is our summer Sunday School theme this year.  What a fun way to explore God’s Word!  Sunday School will be “One-Room, Family Style” this summer with all grades together.  Older children will help the younger ones with activities.  One adult is needed to lead the lesson.  If you are a person of a Sunday School child, or just love children, PLEASE sign up to teach one Sunday!  We still need leaders for the last half of June and all of July.  Sign up sheets are on the table in the upper Narthex.  SIGN UP TODAY!!!

Children and young adults are invited to play their instruments, play piano, etc., on the 3rd Sunday of every month as a special prelude or postlude music.  Please contact Barb Bedlan (402-587-1709) if you would be interested.

Also, all those interested in playing the chimes (we welcome all ages), please contact Rose Wiegert (402-806-1472) or Rita Richardson (402-446-0042).
