In the Fall of 2014, I started the process of becoming trained and available for Intentional
Interim Ministry (IIM). I served at my last ‘regular’ call in Fort Wayne through May 31, 2015. I
began serving at my first IIM church in Fremont, NE in July of 2015. We chose to make our
home in the Omaha, NE area (Bennington) to be closer to my mother-in-law who has just
turned 95 yrs old. My folks are in the Norfolk area, and it is good to be closer to my folks as my
Dad has recently shown signs of a quickly progressing form of Alzheimer’s. My dad had shared
with me in the summer of 2014, as I happened to be considering IIM, that he and my mother
had always hoped that I would one day be a pastor of a church in Nebraska. IIM seemed to be
a good match to my skills, experiences and time in life as well as an opportunity to help make my parents’ dream a reality. I have served churches in Independence, MO; Creston, IA;Glendale, WI; and Fort Wayne, IN over the first 34 of my pastoral ministry. Now, with you here in Fairbury, starting my fourth year of IIM, I am now serving my third church here in Nebraska.
