Midweek classes (Grades 3-6) WILL be held on Wednesday, October 30.  Grades 7-8 will NOT be held on Wednesday, October 30.

 

 

Memory Work  for October 16

3rd Grade Memory Work

Review commandments 1-4 by saying all of them.

The fifth commandment: You shall not murder.

Bible verse: “no murderer has eternal life in Him.” 1 John 3:15

4th Grade Memory Work

The 5th Commandment & meaning.

You shall not murder.  What does this mean?  We should fear and love God so that we do not hurt or harm our neighbor in his body, but help and support him in every physical need.

5th Grade Memory Work

Begin memorizing the First Petition of the Lord’s Prayer and its meaning.

Hallowed be Thy name. What does this mean?  God’s name is certainly holy in itself, but we pray in this petition that it may be kept holy among us also.

Bible Verse: “We all like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way.” Isaiah 53:6


Memorize the first 20 books of the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1 & 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James

 

 

6th Grade Memory Work

Bible Verse: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.” Proverbs 1:7

 

Memorize as much of the 23rd Psalm as you can: 


Memorize the Old Testament books to Esther: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 & 2 Samuel, 1 & 2 Kings, 1 & 2 Chronicles, Ezra. Nehemiah, Esther
